A 12-chapter story-based play programme designed by a registered occupational therapist. Each week, Tumi and Nutmeg guide your child through adventures that build the foundational skills they need to thrive in Grade 1 — through play, not pressure.
Each week a new chapter arrives in your inbox. Read the story together, then do the activity. That's it.
Each week a new chapter arrives in your inbox. Watch the short intro video first so you feel confident and prepared before the session begins.
Each chapter opens with a short Tumi adventure. Your child is drawn into the Enchanted Forest before the activity even begins.
Fun activities, not rote drills — skills grow through doing. Your child leads, you support. Twenty minutes, once a week.
Each chapter targets a specific area, carefully sequenced to build on the last. Skills build progressively so your child grows in confidence week by week.
Core strength and posture for sitting and focusing
Shoulder strength and stability for arm and hand movement
Refined hand and finger movements needed for writing
Pencil grip and hand control
Scissor skills and bilateral hand coordination
Growing confidence in school-related tasks
Tumi's Play Path supports children who are approaching Grade 1 — whether they're flying ahead or need a little extra foundation-building.
If sitting at a desk or holding a pencil feels uncomfortable, the programme's carefully sequenced gross-to-fine motor arc builds the foundation from the ground up.
Hand strength and coordination develop through specific, targeted play activities — not repetition for its own sake. Your child builds confidence alongside skill.
School readiness is physical as much as cognitive. Children who can sit, focus, and control their hands are freed up to learn — and Tumi's Play Path builds exactly that.
No specialist equipment, no appointments. Everything is delivered digitally to your inbox — designed for parents and children to do together in your own time.
Follow Tumi and Nutmeg through the Enchanted Forest — each chapter a new challenge, a new skill, a new story.

Tumi's Play Path was created by Nicole Van Den Berg, a registered occupational therapist with experience in paediatric developmental practice. The programme grew out of real observations of what children need — and what parents can realistically do at home.
The activity sequence is carefully structured so that each skill builds on the last — gross motor foundations before fine motor refinement, proximal stability before distal skill. Every chapter is purposeful.
I wanted to create something parents could actually use — not a worksheet pack or a therapy replacement, but a genuinely fun programme that builds real skills through real play. That's Tumi's Play Path.
